“Youth for Youth” was one of most important projects that JAFPP focused its attention upon stemming from its belief in the important role of youth and the need to encourage them to participate in developing and assisting in implementing JAFPP reproductive health and family planning programs. JAFPP held 30 training workshops attended by more than 1000 youths. The purpose of these workshops was fostering youth leadership and arming them with the skills and knowledge to identify their problems and needs and ways to deal with them.
One of the outcomes of the workshops was the formation of youth committees in various governorates that assume a proactive role in supporting the activities and programs of the association. These committees approached schools and universities and participated in youth camps where they promoted open dialogue on reproductive health issues. One of their successful initiatives is the launch of youth festival fully conceptualized and executed by the youth. The festivals concentrated on delivering awareness message in creative ways. They also included cultural exhibitions.
