“Youth for Youth” is one of most important projects that JAFPP focused its attention upon as it believes in the important role of the youth generation in preparing and implementing JAFPP’s programs in reproductive health and family planning. JAFPP has conducted 30 training workshops with more than 1000 youths attended. Those workshops aimed at preparing youth leaders armed with knowledge and skills that help them to identify and deal with their peers’ problems and needs.
Resulting from those workshops, youth committees representing different regions from Jordan were formed. Those committees have been giving JAFPP a good hand by their effective role in implementing its activities and programs. The committees’ promoting efforts permeated schools and universities as well as their participation in other youth camps aiming at discussing issues related to reproductive health.
Other youth initiatives included festivals for creativity during which creative ideas for spreading awareness and encouraging people were presented by creative young men. More than 6000 people attended youth festivals which not only received a great recognition from many people but also attracted more young men to participate in the upcoming festivals.
Probably, one of the most important results of that project is inviting youth organizations to incorporate reproductive and family planning programs in their agenda. It is worth mentioning that JAFPP was able to establish 11 health-care units in 11 youth centers during “Youth for Youth” project which was funded by Netherlands Monetary Fund.
